Today’s ride courtesy of Lesley Wilmore. It was a good turnout for the breakfast ride today but unfortunately Lesley was let down at the last minute by her choice of venue. All was not lost though and we all enjoyed breakfast at the Blake’s Centre, Saling. From there we had a pleasant route to Heybridge Basin and The Jolly Sailor for a drink. Thank you Lesley. A grand day out... Dave Iszard

Lovely ride out great roads well done Lesley for organizing it. Met a mate hadn't seen for a while at Blake Hall so didn't finish at Heybridge. Thanks again...Andrew Hanlon

Would like to thank Lesley for a great ride out this morning, 10/10 for sorting breakfast stop as first one closed ! I think it was better anyway as the breakfast was to die for,,,Bob McDonald

Very enjoyable Lelly Run today. Our thanks to Lesley for a great route and overcoming last minute problems for the breakfast stop which probably turned out better as we had the added bonus of a hidden bike shop on the same site before another run finishing at Heybridge Basin as the tide came in... Paul and Pauline.

Thanks for a good run Leslie, enjoyed by all...Brian Irwin

It was an early start 8.30 for 9 but it 'was' a breakfast run so it has to be in time for breakfast. We left home ( Nicki and I) having not eaten and met the others at Writtle. A very nice route took us through Essex lanes with thatched cottages and flint churches. The promised gravel strewn lane never materialised as I reckon someone had swept it up in the night. Driven by hunger the 15 rode on getting weaker by the minute and then we were there. Spirits were dashed when we found out it was SHUT. ( Plan A was to go to the George at Shalford but staff illness dictated plan B, The Blue Egg - - SHUT.)

I was so hungry by now I started to look at who of the 15 I might eat. They are all soo old and tough I decide to hang on until THE BLAKES CENTRE down the road a few miles. Very good it was too. We all had breakfast except Rex and then continued to Heybridge Basin for lunch. Everyone was still full up from breakfast so we just drank beer except Rex who ate a very big dinner. ( I think he is bulking up for winter ). Thank you Lesley, a very entertaining day out... Dave Iszard
