Beautiful morning, hottest day predicted by the Weather
presenters on TV and radio channels and it felt like they may be right
as we approached the Museum of Power.
 After
everyone had signed on, off we set to our Breakfast stop at Lynn's Cafe
at the Ongar Sports Club. Unfortunately, very quickly, we were confronted
with roads covered by stone clippings from road works that were not
there on Monday. Fortunately everyone coped well on the tricky surface and
we got back to tarmac. It was good to get out of town on to nice little
 back lanes.
After breakfast we rode on through
Ongar, Paul O'leary on his KH Kawasaki 400 stopping for petrol and spark
plugs. Through some more lanes before hitting Brentwood town centre,
which thankfully was fairly quiet, but unfortunately none of the cast of
T.O.W.I.E were spotted probably too early for them, on towards lunch.
 Our
venue for lunch was the Wat Tyler Park named after one if the leaders
of the Peasant revolt of 1381. While stopped for lunch Dave Bradley came
up with an alternative route back to the Musem of Power avoiding the
poorly surfaced roads we had encountered in the morning and graciously
agreed to lead everyone back to base. I would like to thank Dave very
much for his help and advice in planning this route and also for the
massive amount of effort he put in with the organisation of the event as
well as Simon Enticknap, Dave Iszard, John Beckinsale and Rex Croft.
Hope everyone had fun.
Dave Smith
