A nice fine sunny morning, I arrived at Battlesbridge at 9am on my 350, 1951 Matchless. First one there but one by one by one more bikes started to arrive.

This being my first time of organising a ride I was a bit nervous about who would turn up, but was pleasantly surprised at the final number.
Ten o'clock soon came around, a quick briefing and we were off.
Left out of the car park over the bridge and onto Watery Lane, past Hullbridge along Lower Road to Canewdon, Rochford, Sutton, on to Barling, Wakering ,Shoeburyness and along the sea front passing Thorpe Bay back over Sutton Ford Bridge turning left and going around the back of Southend Airport through Hockley to the Fairway Diner for refreshments.
Restarting we made our way to Wickford, Billericay, Noak Hill over the A127 along Laindon High Street and up Langdon Hill, down the other side over the A13 turning right onto the old A13 and finally making our way to East Tilbury and the Ship Pub where they treated us very well.
My thanks go to everyone who turned up, thereby making this a great day out.
Many thanks
Stuart Strauss and my brother Julian.

GEORGE SMITH

Arrived at Battlesbridge to find a car park full of bikes and more still arriving. At least 20 riders turned up, the most this year. Set off in the sunshine for an interesting ride that included country lanes a visit to the seaside and a test for us all riding in a large group in what seemed like rush hour traffic. We all passed the test with no casualties. An enjoyable day with good routes, good venues and good friends. Thanks to Stuart and Julian Strauss well done on your first organised ride.

Thanks to the members that sent their photos to add to page and apologies for all the photos of my bike. I think the photographers like Ducati.

Thankyou Stuart, very good especially the ride along Southend Sea front with the blue sky and blue sea ( I almost got poetic then ) I was a little worried for you when the AJS said, " that's it I'm stopping". Do it again sometime. Not forgetting Julian back marking.

CLIVE TOOBY

Enjoyed the ride, Stuart, thank you. Excellent marking, by the way.
